I think it’s easier to see one's progress on a project when we’re working with our hands. Yesterday I worked on my bike. Before I started, there was two things I wanted to fix. I had to get out the tools, take things apart, look at them, find out what was wrong, and make the changes necessary. After that I had to put the tools away and clean up. When this was done I could ‘see’ my progress.We like to measure progress. When dealing with people it’s always nice when we can see immediate change, but often we don’t. Maybe that’s why parables of the agricultural nature seem to hit home with me. Fruit trees don’t produce fruit overnight. Wheat does not go from seed to harvest within one day.
